All Ambass-A-Door window designs have the ability to achieve fire escape, dependent upon size. Where small windows are necessary, the Sprowston Fire Exit Range will comply with this regulation. The window has been designed specifically as an emergency exit in the event of fire, yet retaining the visual appeal of a traditional sliding sash.

There are two ranges and both retain designs on the same lines as a traditional sliding sash, with the top sash in front of the bottom sash.

The Sprowston Mock Sliding Sash features a top sash which is top hung opening outwards and a bottom sash which is side hung to open inwards: with both elements in the full open position, emergency egress is clear and unobstructed.

The Sprowston Sliding Exit Window still slides up and down, but the bottom sashes can swing into the room, allowing exit.
